One of the worlds priciest perfumes Amaffi has opened a boutique in Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. The Swiss based firm celebrated its boutique opening in October 2022. The place was decked out in black lacquer and crystal chandeliers, this is Amaffi’s big debut in Asia being its first store in the continent and only its third globally, after stores in London and New York opening.

The person behind the fragrance is Madame Amaffi who was inspired by her late great-grandmother, a perfumer to French emperor Napoleon, to launch her own fragrance label in 2012.

The Managing Director Mr Didier-Alexandre Ambroise, was in Singapore for the launch of the store spoke to the Strait Times to give an update on the company’s latest venture and also why Singapore? He had this to say;

“Singapore is the gateway to Asia and our boutique in Singapore is an entry into a whole new market. Globally and across Asia, the demand for niche fragrances has increased over the past year.”

Euromonitor International is a global market research company and commented on China’s market for niche perfumes. It has grown dynamically in the last 10 years and is expected to reach 12 billion yuan (S$2.33 billion) in 2023.

In todays market niche perfumes are giving mass-market brands a run for their money. Even though they cost much more than their counterparts, the consumer demand is more driven by exclusivity.

At TCB Group Singapore we are delighted with the latest introduction to Singapore’s high street. We played a role in ensuring the smooth set up of the boutique and stock to fill it. We brought the vast majority of the goods from Europe into Singapore and worked with a number of different agents to ensure a complete transition from beginning to end.

At TCB Group we have always seen the huge benefit a location in Singapore brings and based on the comments made by the MD so does Amaffi. We are thrilled to work with such a high label brand and see it turn into such a success during its short time already in Singapore.
